Principal's update 27 October 2023

Published on 27/10/23

Dear Parents and Carers

An enormous thank you to all our staff and students, parents and carers for your support for our school over the last few days. Our Ofsted inspection is complete and was a really positive experience for both students and staff. We look forward to sharing the results with you in due course. The behaviour of our students was exemplary, and they are a credit to our school.

Thank you also to everyone who donated to and took part in our 3G pitch fundraiser! School was awash with football kit and sportswear, and it was wonderful to see students getting involved in our goal challenge. The final total for the day was 1130 goals!! We are still working out how much money was raised and will let you know the total as soon as possible. If you have not yet had chance to donate, then it is still possible to do so via Parent Pay. Thanks to Mrs Oldfield and the rest of the PE department for organising a fantastic challenge!

What’s going on in school:

  • Our amazing Y7 choir recently performed for Y6 families who visited us on our Open Evening. With two performances of ‘The best that you can be’, they sounded incredible!

  • Our Diversity Club baked and sold spooky cakes on Wednesday lunchtime to raise money for the charity ‘Just Like Us’.
  • This week, our Y8 students were entertained and inspired by Erin Burgess. Erin is part of the HVC alumni and is in her final year of a musical theatre degree at The Northern Royal Ballet School in Manchester.  Thank you, Erin!
  • Year 10 and 11 girls played netball at Chapel school last week. This was an exceptionally enjoyable trip, resulting in our Y11s winning their match, Unfortunately, Y10 just missed out on a win. This was a really great evening with a superb standard of netball on display.
