Well Dressing On Display

Today several members of staff managed the impressive task of moving our welldressing display from the construction department to the front of the school. Considering that the display is mainly made from heavy, sodden clay, it was an impressive feat! The team effort was nothing though, compared to the efforts of our students this week; they used a range of natural materials (including lentils, seeds, leaves and petals) to create this fantastic piece of artwork. The theme of the display is community, embodying messages about ‘Bee kind’ and ‘Be strong’. Just as the staff were putting the display up, members of the community who have organised the welldressing blessings due on Sunday happened to walk past. After such a difficult year, Mrs Jones the headteacher, reflected that this was probably one of the first face-to-face bits of community engagement that had happened since 2019! It was great to present such a positive display to the world that really sums up what is great about our school: our close, supportive community.
