As we start the new term, I would like to take the opportunity to reiterate to you all how critical attendance is to your young person’s success at school. We thank you in advance for your support and cooperation in ensuring that your young person attends school every day, unless they are too unwell to do so.

We have a strict policy on mobile phone usage in school: phones should be switched off and kept in bags at all times whilst in the school building. Anyone using a phone without permission should hand it over to staff and it will be kept at reception for the remainder of the day and collected at the end of the day. Parents will be notified. Thank you again for your support in this matter.

The weather forecast for the rest of the week looks good, with warm temperatures. Students should remember to bring water bottles to school with them – these can be refilled from the water fountains during break and lunchtime. Students may prefer to wear shorts or skirts to school in the warmer weather. As part of our School Uniform Policy, students may wear plain navy blue or black knee length tailored shorts.

If your young person has PE on their timetable on their first day back, they should bring their PE kit to school with them. They may also wish to bring a sun hat and sun screen during warmer weather.

Parents and Carers of Year 7 students should have received a letter by post with information about ParentPay. We would ask you to action this as soon as possible – thank you.

At the start of term, all students will be given a copy of our Student Handbook, which contains lots of useful information for students and parents and carers. Timetables can be copied into the handbook and students should have this with them in school each day.

We look forward to a successful academic year with all our students.
