  • Hope Valley College celebrates a strong set of GCSE results

    Hope Valley College students are celebrating today as they opened their GCSE and Level 2 vocational qualification results.

    A total of 105 students sat exams across 25 different subjects with:

    • 53.3% achieving a Grade 5 or above in English and Maths
    • 71.4% achieving a Grade 4 or above in English and Maths
    • 48.57% of students achieved at least one Grade 7 to 9 in their exams with nine particularly exceptional students achieving Grade 7 to 9 in all their subjects.
    • One incredibly ambitious Year 7 student took Additional Mathematics this year and has achieved a Grade A, the highest possible grade in the exam.

    The school continues its well-deserved reputation for musical excellence with 50% of students achieving Grade 7 to 9 in Music. Outstanding results were also achieved in Biology and Physics where more than half of students got a Grade 7 to 9. The school’s Attainment 8 score is 50.37, reflecting the high achievement of all students.

    Headteacher, Debbie Petts, said: “We are thrilled for our young people as they receive these amazing results. It represents their dedication to hard work and the diligent work of our teachers and school community.

    “My thanks go to their families who have supported them tirelessly. Our young people now have a wealth of opportunities open to them as they start the next part of their educational journey.”
