Details of our two big music events this term

We have two big music events this term:

1. Christmas Concert at 7pm in the Hall on the Tuesday 10th December. Please see the letter below for more information about what ensembles will be performing in this festive event!

2. Christmas Service at 6pm in St Peters Church in Hope on Thursday 12th December. This is a evening of carols etc and features our Year 7s and the Choir.

Here is a copy of the letter that went home to all parents.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Your child has been working on a performance for the annual HVC Christmas concert on Tuesday 10th of December at 7pm. The concert will feature our talented young musicians and will be a celebration of their achievements and continued dedication to HVC’s Music department. HVC is lucky to have a highly active arts scene with the concert showcasing performances from the wide variety of clubs that take place at HVC as well as performances from our GCSE groups.

Ensembles performing at the Christmas concert:

Year 7 Choir                         String Ensemble

Big Band                               Glee Choir

Brass Ensemble                   Ukulele Band

Wind Band                            Folk Club

Flute Choir                            Year 9 and 10 bands

Students will complete rehearsals during the day of the concert before going home as normal at the end of the school day. Students will need to arrive by 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Please arrive on time, as students need to tune their instruments and warm up before the start of the concert.

I would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to our Christmas Concert on Tuesday 10th December at 7pm. Festive treats will be available during the interval. Tickets for the concert will be £4 with tickets available on the door (cash only and free for students).

Choir only: Choir students and Year 7s will also be taking part in the Christmas Service this year. For the Carol Service on the Thursday 12th December there will be an afternoon service for Year 7s and Choir at 2pm and an evening service for parents/members of the public at 6pm. Students need to arrive for 5.30pm at St. Peters Church in Hope prompt for a 6pm start.

I would be grateful if you could notify me as soon as possible if your son/daughter is unable to attend.

Dress Code: For ALL performances, the dress code is your school polo shirt with black trousers or skirt, black socks or tights and black shoes.
